After a delicious soda shoppe lunch today, I drifted down past Wright Square Cafe (go ahead and say yum!) on my way back to work to see if they had some delicious chocolate covered marshmallows (one of my fave afternoon snacks).

Well, they did have them, but they also had a display of cupcakes (also Yum!). What to do? How to proceed? Cupcakes! Marshmallows! Cupcakes! Marshmallows! I decided to go with Cupcakes, mainly because I have given plenty of business to Wright Square Cafe with my marshmallow cravings and the cupcakes had been made by Britney Banks of Southern Belle Cupcakery.

Britney came to me by karmic accident. Not only is she a sorority sister of my Savannah kindred Sandy Dostal Thornton over at From Blushing Bride to Domestic Diva(http://blushingbridetodomesticdiva.blogspot.com/) but she also works at the company that I worked for when I first moved to Savannah. We have chatted on the phone and she is such a delight! Britney was just featured in the South magazine and has started selling her cupcakes at Wright Square. She also does weddings, natch, parties, school functions, the list goes on and on. Check her out at www.southernbellecupcakery.com. And if you happen by Wright Square Cafe, the red velvet cupcake was divine!

Another friend of mine, a co-worker actually, creates the most awesome jewelry. Mikaela J jewelry is one-of-a-kind pieces in several distinct collections. I already have my favorite picked out and several runners-up! Take a look at her great pieces at www.mikaelaj.com

I just L-O-V-E when I can not only support local business but also young up-and-coming women like myself.

Once again I neglect you dear blog. So sad I know. And I'm sorry. I hope that you will forgive me. I actually have lots of things to say. I randomly think to myself, "this is awesome. i should blog about it" or "uggggh, i hate this. i am totally blogging about it" and yet, never do.
There are actually several things I'd like to chat about, so I might as well get on with some of it at least.

Social Media. Social media encompasses apps like Twitter, Facebook, iPhone apps and the like. Now I'll admit I was quite the myspacer until recently, and while I do have a Facebook, I only look at it to keep up with my married friends and their kids new school pics. Ok, fine I also occassionally look up people from the past - DONT LIE, you know you do it too. But nonetheless, I love Twitter ironically enough. I dont really understand why but I do. Maybe its the fact that I only have 140 characters to say what I need to say. Maybe its the fact that all of those on my following list only have 140 characters to say what they need to say. Whatever it is, I like it! Follow me at www.twitter.com/adpijess

My phone and thus, my phone number. Some of you may know, that I have a newly-acquired beau. I say newly-acquired but in reality we have been together nearly 9 months now. Anyway, he phones with Verizon, and I phone with AT&T/Cingular. Rivalries aside, I have had this account since I was 15. Not that I used a cell phone at 15 as so many kids do these days, but I did have one. I didnt really become an avid cell phone user until I was out of college - wow, I'm old- and now its my only phone.
Currently, I use an LG Shine, which I will readily admit I bought because my Hot Pink Razr that I L-O-V-E-D died and they didnt carry them anymore and because I really liked the commercial with LC and Brody from the Hills. HeeHee. It is scratched to hell and back but still works just fine and I love it. Although I do alot of work outside my computer, but still need access to the emails and internet. Something about the Blackberry Curve calls to me, luring me in with its soft pink marble-y finish. Having tinkered with the Curve here and there, it seems to be a good fit and smart match for me.
Yet,here is the kicker, the beau wants me to join his plan and change my number. Thoughts? I know its just a number, but for me it feels like an identity. And if I feel this way about a number, what will be like when I, gasp, get married?

Hi again kids!

I know, I know! Its been for-ev-er! But life's been a little hectics to say the least. Between getting the boot from a reasonably good corporate job, to waiting tables in 100-degree heat, to bouncing around to several part-time jobs, and FINALLY, landing a really cool one at an amazing museum, I think I finally have it together.

Lots of things have happened, aside from the job thing - turns out I'm pretty good at this weddings and events thing and have made a pretty good time of it all. I've also started blog-stalking. It's an addiction and I probably need a support group. My favorites list is miles long at this point. But they always inspire me to get-to-writing. However, now is the first time I've had a chance to put pen to paper, er, fingers to keys and get on it.

This was my book review blog. Im a complete bibliophile. But now I think the etcetera part will be coming into play much more often. Stay tuned!
